Avon Angling Centre, owned by Andy and Martine Browne, is based in Ringwood, the market town of The New Forest. The area has been described as 'more water than land' with the River Stour and Hampshire Avon close at hand, and numerous Club and Private gravel pits and natural lakes in the area.
Our well-established shop (1996) has been described as 'an Aladin's cave' of top quality tackle and bait from a wide variety of well known manufacturers and destributors.
Andy has over 35 years fishing experience, having successfully covered many aspects of fishing, such as Carp, Match, Specimen Roach, Chub, Barbel, Bream and Tench. He now concentrates on Specimen Barbel, Chub and Roach. Andy has written articles for magazines such as Advanced Pole Fishing,Coarse Angling Today, Match Fishing, Angling Times, Anglers Mail and Improve your Coarse Fishing, demonstrating a variety of coarse fishing, specimen and match tactics. He also appears with a chapter in John Bakers Barbel book with Chub and Barbel and also with a couple of chapters in "Magic Moments" by Phil Smith and Stef Horak.

Martine has fished for many years, and has been in the Tackle trade since she moved to the area in 1982. Although she does not get much time to fish now, being kept busy with the admin side of the business, looking after two horses and holding the fort when Andy is fishing! Andy recently took her fishing for Barbel one evening after work and she caught her first Barbel, one of 11lb and one of 12lb 6oz! Also river carp to 22lb!
Both Martine and Andy like to actively encourage young anglers, and all beginners to the sport, by suggesting the correct equipment, explaining set-ups, and providing all the back-up information to successfully catch those fish.
